About Us

We are Meredith Wadsworth & Bill Prillaman and we live in Roanoke, VA.

We're members of NAVHDA, the WCA, and the Tarheel Weimaraner Club.

You know you're hooked...

when you look into your closet and see more than 10% blaze orange!  Or you trade a your nice "family car" for a gas guzzling diesel truck!  Why diesel?  For the travel trailer bought "for the dogs!"

I got started in all this when I entered Maya in a NAVHDA NA test on a whim when I was in college.  I even lied to my parents and told them I needed more money for gas so that I could pay the entry fee!  She'd never even seen a bird, let alone knew how to track or had been shot over.  A minute or two after we started the field portion of the test, Maya slammed on point--and I was hooked for life!  Two more points, two belly-slapping water retrieves, and a nose-to-the-ground tracking effort later--we got a Prize II.  The only one that day!  And so it goes that I've given up my Coach bag for Poop bags, lug around tennis balls in my purse, and have frozen birds competing for space with the spaghetti in the freezer!

Who We Are

We have found ourselves living in the in the "black hole" of AKC field trials in Southwestern VA.  Because we lack the resources of local clubs and year-round training grounds, we feel that trainability, heart, and a superb nose are very important traits to bring into a breeding program for the amateur owner/handler.  We think that there's a fine line between cooperation and drive, and we strive to get that balance in our breeding.  Due to fewer "weimaraner only" field trial stakes on the east coast, weims today must be competitive against all breeds.  Not only for AKC events, but also in other venues, including NSTRA events.  A good dog should be adaptable and naturally staunch for both the foot hunter and the field trialer.

We also believe that form truly follows function, and hope to produce dogs that have birdiness, biddability, and also have a beautiful, animated run in the field.

We think that weimaraners are--above all--a versatile breed, and that heritage needs to be maintained.  A good dog is a good dog--regardless of breed!
